Hi - I'm just starting out using Jellyfin for IPTV streams in Australia.
Have installed and running fine on macOS using this for m3u8
    {IPTV sourcing not allowed - TDP}

All the channels are working fine except for Channel 9 family of stations.
There is no audio and the image is blocky.

Just wondering if there's a plugin I need to decode theses streams?

    Thanks for your assistance.

    Here's an update.

If I use Jellyfin mobile on iPadOS, the channels play fine, with audio and good image.
So it looks like there's a bug in the Apple Silicon macOS version of Jellyfin that's breaking the playback

Can you share your jellyfin logs via pastebin? I'm wondering if most of your channels are direct playing, but it is transcoding for this channel on some devices.

    Here you go https://pastebin.com/8x3WeRVw
The logs have an attempt to stream from a M1 Max Macbook Pro (which is also running the server). There are 3 files. The log and two ffmeg logs
Ch 9 which fails and then Ch 2 which is fine

This log for when the iPad connects to the server and plays two channels, which both play fine.

The iPad is directly playing the stream while the Mac is requesting a remux, which involves ffmpeg. IPTV is really complicated and there are so so many ways of doing it. ffmpeg probably isn't handling it in a way that your browser can handle.

You may need to use an IPTV proxy like TVHeadend or Threadfin to ensure that the IPTV is handled correctly.

I tried putting Xteve in front of Jellyfin and it's the same problem - no audio on Ch 9 streams while all other channels played OK (on the Mac).
Sounds like ffmeg can't decode this particular stream's encoding for some reason.

So my workaround is to run the iPadOS/iOS client on the Mac instead of playing it via the browser.
This is working fine - probably because as you pointed out it's avoiding ffmeg.

    ...

If I ran Jellyfin on a Raspberry Pi just to do IPTV streaming and used the iPad client, I presume the Pi also won't need to do any remux and will just hand the stream to the iPad Jellyfin mobile software to do the decoding?

Give TVHeadend a try instead of Xteve. I've read people say that it is much better than Xteve. You don't need to use a separate device.

Sadly same issue with TVHeadend. No Audio on channel 9 family of channels.
