I have a user which should only be able to see media items which are PG rated or below. However, they have access to items with the rating "Rated NR"

Im not sure if "Rated NR" is an unofficial ratings tag but i have it in my dropdowns and on like a ton of indie or festival films, and such media should be treated the same as media without ratings, which are correctly parental-filtered. I've created a new user to test which should be G only and they can also see 'Rated NR' content.  I think this is a bug?

The option you have selected, "Block items with no or unrecognized rating information" should prevent users from viewing unrated content. If it is a bug, then it has already been fixed on the upcoming 10.11.0 release. I would suggest scanning the library with the scan for missing metadata option.

    I think you misunderstand:

Items with NO rating data: Are correctly hidden from a user via parental control, you're right.

Items with a specific rating of "Rated NR": Are being considered as like G rated / safest rated media when they shouldnt be, and are slipping through parental control.

I believe that items with a specific rating of "Rated NR" should be treated the same as an item with No rating, or at least classified as restricted.

Do you follow what I mean?

I would wait for v10.11 to drop. That issue may have been fixed on that as parental ratings have been reworked for it.

Do you know more information about what is being reworked?

At some point in the last.. year? All of the rating stuff changed. NR is not an official rating, so yeah, they were seen by all accounts on my server. So I just spent a couple hours going through and changing all of those to either like, PG (documentaries), or R/NC-17. But now I look at the parental access limits, and there are only like, 8 categories? I was hoping to just keep the NC-17 stuff off of my general use user profiles, but it's in the same category as R, but those are definitely very different ratings..
