I am no expert, but that log you posted said the start up was complete. What URL are you using to connect to your server in the browser?

    Code:
    [2025-01-18 12:09:29.610 -07:00] [INF] [1] Emby.Server.Implementations.ApplicationHost: ServerId: "3c12179c25d745cfbc4f0e6c07ebc153"
    [2025-01-18 12:09:29.611 -07:00] [INF] [1] Emby.Server.Implementations.ApplicationHost: Core startup complete
    [2025-01-18 12:09:29.611 -07:00] [INF] [1] Main: Startup complete 0:00:04.6189915

Do you have a VPN running on your system? Or do you have two NICs in your system?

I've tried http://localhost:8096 and http://127.0.0.1:8096 with the same result.

Yes, I run a VPN. However, I've tried starting JF server with the VPN disconnected with same result.

No, running on Dell 5520 laptop with one NIC - connected to a LAN with several devices.

To be absolutely clear, I cannot connect to the Jellyfin server from the server host machine.

Click Start > type Resource Monitor > click on the Network tab > expand the Listening Ports table.

Find jellyfin.exe on port 8096. What does it say in the Firewall status column?

Good news! I can connect to JF server now - setup with username/password, media libraries, etc etc.

Swiftfin app on Apple TV 4k also connects A-OK.

Firefox is my default browser (on Win10 Pro) I use 90%+ of the time. I still cannot connect to JF server on Firefox.

However, I discovered I can connect just fine with no problem whatsoever with Opera and Chrome browsers. I should add that my VPN is also running when connecting to the JF server.

I have no idea why FF won't connect to JF server. I did run FF in troubleshooting mode (which removes all add-ons/extensions) but that was no help. Meantime, I'll continue to research and test on FF. Also, I think it's safe to say this is not a JF problem.

Thanks to all who replied to my posts here - much appreciate!

All good now. Can connect to JF server via all my browsers including Firefox, Chrome and Opera.

None of my problems caused by Jellyfin, firewall, browser, etc - all caused only by dumb mistakes. It was however a good learning experience. Upside-down-face

    Looking forward to using Jellyfin!
