I'm migrating from Emby and have gotten nearly everything i needed working, except for one thing.
Is there a way to display media info (e.g. file/folder name or even meta data) from the player? Or can you only do that from the details page?
Doing it from the player itself is very useful while playing media on shuffle, especially when something's been improperly indexed.

I'm assuming "from the player" means while your video is playing.  If so, I'm only aware of "Edit Metadata" and "Media Info" from outside the player in the media selection screen.

Depends on which client you are using.

On webclient, you select the gear icon by the bottom right (under the progress bar) and select playback info.

This however doesn't show the file name.

If your use case is for playing music I'd use something like musicbrainz and just make sure that your songs are properly tagged.

    Correct

That's a shame, oh well not a dealbreaker, thanks for the info! Do you happen to know if they're planning to add this feature?

Yeah, i found that one, but as you say, it only show technical info about the file. Useful, but not what i'm looking for.
