I found a setting in the config → settings.xml file to exclude words from sorting, and have removed the "THE" entry, and then restarted the server. However, the media/folders are still randomly scattered, with the definite article still be ignored anyway.

So, my question... just how do I get "The Object" to not appear in the Os - but in the Ts where it belongs?

Check the metadata (click ".." and edit metadata) for some of these "The" films and see if a "sorting name" was populated.

Sorry to revive an old thread.
    The config is now /etc/jellyfin/system.xml

I've tried to remove the SortRemoveWords but after a reboot, the node is back.
So I deleted all entries and it still sorts wrong.
I've added a stupid long word so nothing can get removed for sorting and it still doesn't work.
Eg.: "A Good Girl's Guide to Murder" is sorted at G and not A.
There is no sort title configured in the metadata.
What else can I do to have it sort "correctly" with the full title?
    Thanks

    I made some more tests.
I've edited the metadata of "A Good Girl's Guide to Murder", changed nothing but clicked on save.
    Now it's sorted correctly.
There was no change in the metadata, so what can I do to have all movies end shows sorted correctly without saving all of them once.

You should be able to go to Dashboard ->Libraries-> Libraries select the context menu on your library and perform a scan with the search for missing metadata option.

Done, but this hasn't solved the sorting.

After waiting for one hour, it looks like your solution worked. Thanks.
