I don't know how to explain this properly, but the translucent circle (Example image that I found is inside attachment) when you double tap to fast forward or rewind will be stuck on the half the screen after you close the phone screen and try to open it back to navigate jellyfin.

When you first play a video the whole screen will appear like this too, the only way to get rid of it is to double tap fast forward once.

This happens on both my s20+ and s24u, any suggestions would be appreciated!

Oops. Missed that in the title. For testing, switch to the web player. Does the circle still stay on the screen when you skip forward?

Sorry didn't receive any notifications from your reply, but there is no double tap to skip feature on the web player so the circle is not there. Using an external player such as VLC will solve this issue but, every time I exit from the player it will close both the player and Jellyfin instead of returning to Jellyfin.

I wonder if this an issue with DeX's side.

For those that don't know, DeX is Samsung's proprietary version of a computer OS on their phones and tablets: https://www.samsung.com/us/apps/dex/
Des is using DeX to handle running the Jellyfin Android app that is then shown on any screen through HDMI.
    -------------------------------------------------
    Edit:
I can confirm this is an issue with DeX and the Jellyfin Android app. Since I also have a Samsung phone that supports DeX, I used DeX with Jellyfin set to launch the integrated ExoPlayer.

Using the phone as a mouse pad, when you double-click on the screen to fast-forward or rewind, the first time is successful.
If you then bring up the ExoPlayer GUI by single-clicking on the screen, the transparent circle that indicates a double-click is permanently brought back up and will not disappear until your next double-click.

Just to point out, this issue doesn't happen when running the Android app normally (not using DeX on the Samsung phone).

    Edit 2:

How are you exiting from the VLC player on DeX? I tried it and closing out of the VLC player will not take me out of Jellyfin. Seems like a solution to your problem as it doesn't have this issue.

Yes, thank you for confirming that this issue is not just happening to me, I have suspected as much since it happened on both my Samsung devices while using DeX. I have revisited using VLC and I can't seem to replicate both VLC and Jellyfin closing together like before, but there are still some downsides like unable to auto-play the next video, and being unable to change the streaming quality on the fly.

I believe I'm in the minority for using DeX with JellyFin but DeX is crucial to my media consumption setup, as XREAL Beam just does not cut it for me as a media playing tool, DeX just works way better with my XREAL Air2. I am hopeful that the devs could get this compatibility fix for DeX and ExoPlayer.
