I have my Jellyfin server set up on my Windows PC. Windows firewall is turned off, but my router does have a firewall. I have port 8096 enabled to connect to my local machine via the router. However, my family member is unable to connect to it (it times out). I've confirmed the port forwarding is open, and that remote connections are allowed. I've tried checking for the port to be open on one of the many websites to check ports, and it says it's closed. However, even when I set my computer to DMZ, it's still doing it.

Trying to see what else could be causing this. Appreciate any advice.

    Does your ISP use CGNAT?

What ISP do you have, if you don't mind my asking?

Also, can you go into your router and check what the public IP is? If the PUBLIC IP is in these ranges, your ISP is using CGNAT.

    192.168.x.x
    10.x.x.x
    172.16.x.x through 172.31.x.x
    100.64.x.x through 100.127.x.x

If you have a modest understanding of networking you may have noticed that these are all private IP address ranges.

It's AT&T fiber, and the public IP is not within those ranges. Public IP starts with 99.135.x.x

(Side note -- is there a way to change your profile name? I don't like it having my actual name here)

Send me a PM with your desired username. I will pass it along to one of the forum admins.

The 99.135.X.X IP is the address you are giving to your remote user? Have you considered getting a free DDNS address from DuckDNS?

That address is what I gave to the remote user, yes. I haven't tried using a DDNS address as of yet, no.
