As the Title says, on the jellyfin codec site it states for h.265 10 bit: "Android playback is currently broken. Client reports that HEVC is supported and attempts to Direct Stream."

Im on a galaxy 23 and havent noticing any Problems so far. Has this been fixed or am i missing something?

Considering that your device has HEVC 10 bit playback support, I don't think that issue applies to you. Just older Android devices, if it's still an unresolved issue. But latest release I think has newer media framework stuff added for Android.

    JellyFin: 10.10.0
    OS: Proxmox 8 + Ubuntu 24.04
    CPU: 2xIntel Xeon E5-2690 v4 (28c/56t)
    RAM: 256GB DDR4
    GPU: Intel Arc A380
    Rack: HPE DL380 Gen9
    Storage: 260TB
      100TB ZFS RAIDZ3 HDD

      5TB ZFS RAIDZ1 NVMe

My Android phone supports H.265, and the via browser can stream normally, why does the client need to transcode? What can be done about it? I can only use the html player because I have a need for multi-group playback

Could you provide your server's logs after you play a video that transcodes on the client?

My guess is an audio track or subs that the phone app doesn't support.
