I switched from Plex to Jellyfin a while ago and the one thing I've missed is the ability to download videos on Android for Offline Play through the same player I'm used to.
I know currently we can download as a simple local file we can use any player to watch but I would love if it was possible to watch using the same app I use when I'm on my own network.

Is there any way to do this currently? Perhaps a 3rd party app that links up to my server? If not, are there any plans for it?

Check out Findroid. You can download movies and other videos to local storage and then switch to Offline Mode (click gear, toggle offline mode). You can then view your downloaded content.

You just got to make sure that your phone is capable of Direct Playing this content. If you are reliant on transcoding for playback due to codec incompatibility you might have issues with watching your downloaded content. If your phone is relatively new, this probably won't be a problem.

Jesus!! Thank you my dude!! The UI of this app is even better than the official Jellyfin app, what an embarrassment. Appreciate this my dude!
