Hello. I encountered this issue with jellyfin in the android mobile app with integrated player. I googled but couldn't find any proper answer.
The error only occurs when the bit rate is above 4mbpsWhen I set the bit rate to 3mbps(480p) the video plays. What could be the issue here. I have attached the media info as well. Also I use Intel quicksync for transcoding on my server. Thanks in advance

When you are setting it above 4Mbps it is probably direct playing. Since 4+ Mbps is above the bit rate of the video.

But the integrated player should be requesting a transcode for HDR content. What version of Jellyfin are you running on your phone and server?

Can you share your server logs with us via sourcebin?

    Jellyfin Server version: 10.8.13
Jellyfin Android app version: 2.6.0 (Latest one from play store)
    PC Specs:
    Intel Core i5-7300HQ
    16 GB Ram
    GP107M [GeForce GTX 1050 Mobile]
    OS: Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS
    Kernel: Linus 5.15.0-97-generic
    Jellyfin server logs:
    https://sourceb.in/nFSJsFopsZ

I am able to run the media if i change to web player, runs on jellyfin client on my PC via direct play and any web browser via transcoding. Just android app internal player is giving me this issue.

The web player in the Android app is almost certainly requesting a transcode. The Integrated player SHOULD be asking for a transcode, but isn't for some reason.

The logs you put in the sourcebin don't contain any playback logs. Also, go to Dashboard > Logs and disable the slow response messages. They are pointless and clog up the log.

Hey sorry for the late reply
    New Logs:
    https://sourceb.in/0DotpdHDSo
I think these ones have transcoding details in them. Sorry if i am wrong, very new to jellyfin and self-hosting as a whole.
I am using Samsung Galaxy S23 Which is running android 13.
    Thank You for your help.

    Edit:
I just noticed in jellyfin that it gives seperate transcoding logs for stuff. i tried playing it on phone now but no new log popped up. But there is some ffmpeg error in the logs i provided now but dk if they are pointing to that. i tried to play it twice on my phone before taking the log details. I noticed playback issue with an SDR file as well but that error was audio transcoding not video. That file has 2 audio tracks one normal and one commentary. It dosent play when the audio is set to normal but works fine with commentary. I feel the issue is with transcoding requests by the integrated exoplayer but not really sure. I have attached the pic of the error for the non HDR error as well

That log doesn't contain anything related to playback. Can you share the entire log?

It dosent create the transcode logs when i try and fail to play it from my phone. I only get those transcode logs when i play it on web browser. Should i upload those logs?
Also i updated to 10.9.0 unstable to check if that might fix it but that didnt work as well

Even if it direct plays it will produce some logs related to it. The log your provided do not contain any playback related logs. Not any attempts to initiate the playback tracker or determining client compatibility or which client is being used.

Which is why I'm asking for the entire log so I can sift through it.

Can you please point me to it?
Edit: I just went through the most recent logs and found no mention of the puss in boots movie i failed to play except for one instance where i played it via web player. idk which logs would be useful for you here. I am pretty sure i am missing something here.

Search for "transcodereason". That will always appears whenever a client starts to play something.
