AVIF Images Not Showing in Photo Library

Hi, I’ve encountered an issue where images in the AVIF format are not appearing in my photo library. I’ve ensured that the images are correctly formatted, and they open fine in other applications like Firefox and dedicated image viewers. However, Jellyfin seems to skip them entirely when indexing the photo library.
Here are some details about my setup:

• Jellyfin Version: [10.9.9]
  
• Platform: [windows 11 23h2]
  

Steps I’ve Taken:

1. Updated Jellyfin to the latest version to ensure the issue isn't due to outdated software.
   
2. Manually refreshed the library, but the AVIF images still do not show up.
   
3. Checked file integrity by opening the AVIF files in different applications, and they work perfectly.
   
4. Looked through the logs, but I didn’t notice any specific errors related to AVIF images during the library scan.
   

Additional Information:

• Images in other formats like JPEG and PNG are displaying correctly in the library.
  
• The AVIF files have standard extensions (.avif), and I’ve confirmed they are valid image files.
  

Could this be a limitation in Jellyfin’s handling of AVIF, or might there be a configuration step I’m missing? Any guidance on how to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Wow! i totally missed the changelog there.

I agree it should work then... Let me create a test library...

When I used to have my photos library in Jellyfin it would show some photos, not show other photos. The photos that didn't show were the same format and were named in a similar manner. In my case either JPEG or Sony RAW (ARW).

The photos library has issues, in general.

As for the question about AVIF, I added an AVIF image as a backdrop in my test library and it was displayed. So I don't think the issue is with AVIF and it just that the photos library is not great in Jellyfin.

it is odd, what it kinda worked was renaming the pics to webp or jpg.
