I have been using a FireTv Cube 2nd gen with Jellyfin and everything is great. I recently upgrade to an LG C3 and using LG's Jellyfin client.

I noticed the interface is different and it seems like the FireTv can handle more format without the need for transcode (e.g., I noticed that LG's Jellyfin needs to transcode when I use subtitles).

Is FireTv's client better for streaming? Thanks!

The WebOS client definitely has some short comings in regards to codec compatibility.

Thanks for the confirmation. I also want to report back that is the case. I thought I can get rid of the Fire TV Cube, but I'll keep in mind to have a dedicated streamer.

When I hooked up the Fire TV Cube, it detects the TV and sets up almost correctly. I tested the same movie and subtitles and the transcode problem goes away.
