I've been a Jellyfin user for a few years but wanted to shift it to Kodi, but I'm having an issue.

I have followed the installation guide an added https://kodi.jellyfin.org to file manager. But when it attempts to connect, it fails. Over and again. I can't move on to the next step. Same issue on multiple Nvidia Shield devices.

    Can anyone assist?

There are no logs to speak of, as I am not even to the point of being able to select my server. Kodi is simply not connecting to the zip file database.

I just tried to back into it through my NAS and same thing.

I downloaded the repository zip file, put it on my NAS. Then I went into Kodi and installed the zip file. That provided the Jellyfin repo. I then went into "install from repository," clicked Jellyfin's and it just spun for about 15 seconds before ending with "Could not connect to repository."

Obviously, I am on Shield like I mentioned, but might I be running into this issue?

There should be some Kodi logs indicating what kind of error is happening. https://kodi.wiki/view/Log_file/Easy

What version of Kodi are you trying to use? As far as I'm aware, all current stable versions should be functional on our repo.

Ah, Kodi logs. I thought you meant Jellyfin's.

    Is this what you need?

I have no experience with using Nvidia Shields and I think your issue may even come before this step but I'd have problems in Kodi with it connecting to my server or being able to update added locations from the server at times. My only solution was to fully remove all Jellyfin data from Modi and re-start. Not a huge deal other than the time it takes to copy over the metadata.

If you aren't even to that step I have had issues with Kodi even seeing my server or allowing my to login properly which again was remmedied by fully removing all JF data and starting over.

If you issue is even before that (sounds like it's a repo install issue?) then I' no help at all. But I will say once you get the kinks smoothed out having JF manage your Kodi clients is way awesome! I could never go back from here.
    JF Wish List:
    IMDb Top250 metadata
    Collection content rules: Library-Title/Sorttitle/Tag/Director/Filename/Contains
    Collection organized by Library
    Collections scanned to editable XML
    Media info show added Collection
Soundtrack auto link to movie by title/sort/Manual
    Read Music Album Sort

Yessir. I rebuilt Kodi from scratch, a fresh install, in hopes of going the JF route. I'm way early in the process.

Are you using some custom build of Kodi that might have changed the useragent used?  That's how our repo determines where to direct you, and it's a little odd that it's unable to load at all.  Otherwise if you can DM me your public IP, we can check the repo logs and see if that gives any indication what the problem is.  Unfortunately, the Kodi logs aren't being overly helpful in this case.

yeah seems like a network issue on your kodi host/machine/client. it's not able make any request.

can you ping google.com from the kodi machine ?

EDIT: Also ensure your kodi machine's firewall and jellyfin's firewalls configured correctly.

Perhaps you can temporarily turn off the firewall and see if you're able to connect.
