Hi everyone, sorry if I missed it as I'm relatively new to Jellyfin, but in the Android client there doesn't seem to be a way to sort movies by genre.

To make it easy for the kids I'd like to be able to have family movies in the "My Media" section ideally or at least be able to sort by genre in the Android client (they're accessing this via a Smart TV.)

I did some searching and couldn't find out if this was possible and wasn't able to uncover a guide. Any suggestions would be hugely appreciated.

Hello, in the folder that you have your stuff, press on the config button and mark the check that is on the bottom (I don't have the tv in front of me right now, sorry)

Then, leave the app and go into the same folder and you will see a genre section, but is not that easy like the windows's, because it's always order alphabetical.

I do like to create a mixed folder with every movie separate in other folders like "action", "animation", "comedy", ...

If the first option is not the one that you want, you can try the one that I said

    here you have an example

I admit it's really not convenient...
We can select a smart display in this case, yes, but it's not ideal.

Because how do we manage if we want both the "animation" genre and sorting by rating or date added?

Yeah, you can't currently filter by the greens in the smart view, but the developer has mentioned that improvements will be made in the future.
