I'm scratching my head with this one:

Connecting to jellyfin via LAN with the IP address works
Connecting to jellyfin via WAN with domain name works
Connecting to jellyfin via LAN with domain name DOES NOT work

I'm using pihole for local DNS name resolution, and according to the pihole log, it is serving the IP correctly. The command nslookup from command line also indicates the correct jellyfin IP address. However, a curl of the domain reports 'unable to connect to server' and when I connect via browser, I am unable to connect via Firefox or Chrome. Chrome reports ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED. I don't see anything relevant in the Jellyfin log.

The new thing in my setup is that I'm running Jellyfin inside an LXC in Proxmox, and PiHole is in another LXC in the same Proxmox. No idea if this is creating an issue.

    Any ideas?

What IP are using for LAN clients? For LAN clients using the domain name, you should be resolving the LAN IP and not the WAN IP.

I'm using the local IP. For example nslookup to the domain gives:

    Server: pi.hole
    Address: 192.168.200.53

    Name: jellyfin.[domainname]
    Address: 192.168.200.10

I solved it... it was forwarding to my jellyfin IP with https. I had to forward to my reverse proxy so it could serve an SSL cert. Silly mistake.
