When you try to connect are you on the computer running the server? Going to localhost:8096 in a web browser from the server computer should open the JF interface. If you're trying to connect from another device (smart tv/phone/other computer) then double-check that the ip of your server computer hasn't changed (or it hasn't switched to wifi from lan or vice versa).

Yes I am on the machine running the server. The interface is showing, however if I click on the server to connect to it, I get the message that it cant connect and I should make sure if its running.

I havent even been able to setup the server yet (allocate the folders with the media etc)

Thanks. That finally did thh trick.

In case soomeone has the same issue here is what helped in the end:
uninstall the whole thing (even the userdata etc)
    run the installer as admin
    start the server as admin
    clear browser cache.

Now it works. I hope it keeps working, but I will let you know if not.
