When I launch Jellyfin on my Win 11 Pro PC and try to connect from another computer or Roku I get the error "Server cannot be found". If I restart Windows, launch Jellyfin and try to connect it works. If anyone knows, or even suspects, what causes this I would love to know. It is very annoying. Thanks.

I installed Jellyfin on a different Win 11 Pro PC and I have the same problem on the new PC. Unless I restart Windows immediately before starting Jellyfin I cannot connect from Roku or my Android tablet. Is it possible that this has something to do with my wifi router or some router setting? Any thoughts? Thanks.

not positive, you may have luck setting the "Alive message interval" to 30 (from https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/post-i...rking/dlna). Are you able to enter the server's ip directly into the app and connect that way (e.g. http://192.168.0.XX:8096)?

Or is your connection lost after windows has been running for a while and you put the address in manually already? in which case it could be firewall/antivirus related (check traffic to and from 8096 is allowed for your local network); or possibly that your server is changing ip addresses (if the server is on both wifi and wire may swap between the two confusing your client, or your router may change the dhcp lease that your server has)? Also make sure that the computer isn't entering into some sort of low-power mode and disabling background tasks.

don't know if those'll solve your issue but hopefully will give you something to start ruling out.

hey there, I'm not OP but running into the same problem.  I set up a mesh network and have static IP's set for certain devices, so can see they're working as expected on the correct subnet 172, but still getting "server not found" on Roku.    The Roku is currently up to date but the Jellyfin server is getting no sign of activity from it despite entering the address manually. Using that same address, the Jellyfin is working fine on all my other devices, so I think it may be something on the Roku side.  I see there's a Jellyfin Legacy app on here I'll give a shot tomorrow.

Edit: repeated the exact same steps the next day and it's finding the server no issue now lol
