Hi,
I've searched but couldn't find an answer. I have a bunch of home movies and even movies and shows that aren't ever going to be on themoviedb.org or thetvdb.com.
I've purchased video series on nutrition, magic, religion, horsemanship, all kinds of subjects, and what I've done is this:
It was time consuming and I don't want to do it again.
But what happens when my server dies and I have to rebuild? I don't want to do all that manual metadata editing.
Can I save all the metadata to a file so that if I move it to a new instance of jellyfin in the future, it will properly read the metadata and pull in the local images?
Is this what NFO files are for? Can someone please help me?
Thank you so much. What a super community!!!

- I manually edited the metadata.
- I manually assigned thumbnails.
- I manually added descriptions.
- I manually put them in order that they should be watched.
