I'm running my Jellyfin on an old laptop running Ubuntu server OS. I recently upgraded my external HHD from a 2 TB to an 8TB drive. As of now everything seems to be working fine except from the Keyframe Extractor task. It keeps failing over and over no matter what I do. I never had this issue before and I don't see anything in the logs that would tell me why this is happening. Have you ever dealt with this? Any ideas on what I can do to fix it?

    Hey @troothdotcom

Could you provide the log files on an external website like pastebin or alike for us to have a look?

This is a shot in the dark. Did you use an AMD card to encode your media? When I upgraded from a GTX 1070 to a RX6800 all the videos I recompressed with the RX6800 had the problem you are describing with chapter image extraction. I had to go back and re-encode everything with an Nvidia card to resolve this error and get chapter image extraction to work.

I have the same Keyframe extractor error running Jellyfin 10.8.10 on main PC (Windows 11 Pro for Workstations 22H2 build 22621.1992, pc spec 5950X cpu, 64 gb ram, 40 tb storage (20 tb for Jellyfin) and 3080 gpu.

The keyframe extractor ran as scheduled task or manually fails at 71.8% for me. A quick google of the error implies this is not a new issue for Jellyfin.

There are however no problems with Jellyfin streaming to any device in house (e.g. TV's, laptops, tablets etc). It is a fantastic media server and I can't wait to see what 10.9 will bring.

I wonder if you have to set the logging to debug: https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/admini...ug-logging
