Hi all, my setup is currently duckdns with wireguard and I was wondering if I was able to share the vpn? so others could use it (at max 2 people) or is this dangerous and i'm gonna get 184848 bots trying to maul my router; any help is appreciated 😀

If Jellyfin is behind a properly configured private Wireguard VPN it is completely safe (as least as safe as to the Wireguard tunnel) to share.

Hello new forum user but I’ve been running JF for a while now. If you’re talking about a mesh net of some sorts it should be possible if everyone has the same vpn and account.
On the other hand I have internet facing apps like you using duckdns and nginx for the reverse proxy. As along as you’re keeping up with renewing certificates and have strong passwords you should be able to host on xxxxx.duckdns.org. Pm me if you need help

You don't need both if you only want to gave access.

For VPN you can look at Tailscale, you can give access only to Jellyfin.
Its easier to setup and manage access by groups, user or devices
    https://tailscale.com/kb/1018/acls

You using reverse proxy+domain, you don't need VPN, it's already accessible over internet but can also be exploited, unless it's used only to wireguard.
Look at fai2ban for intrusion prevention

PS: look at wg-easy for a wireguard webui

Hello! Just as another option, I recently went with NordVPN which has a built-in MeshNet. If I'm signed into Nord on my server (laptop) and my phone (or, as relevant to your question, my brother is signed into the Nord account I share with him that supports up to 10 devices) then I and he can access JF without issue AND without having to set up any kind of router settings/forwarding/tunneling. I'm really enjoying the setup. We basically have our own private network while being remote to each other and it also supports sending large files over mobile/wifi via the Mesh.
