I got Jellyfin up and running on my Synology about a month ago. It was working great everywhere -- Macbook, iPhone and two LG Smart TVs at two different houses. Out of nowhere both TVs no longer work.

One won't even connect anymore ("are you connecting to a Jellyfin server?"). Tried deleting the app and reinstalling multiple times -- nothing. Same error. No logs in Jellyfin or Container Manager. This is obviously a critical problem. I can login to every other streaming thing just fine, it's not the internet on my TV.

The other LG logs in fine but won't play a single video. Every video flashes a couple of times then fails saying the client can't support. Doesn't even attempt to transcode (which was also working great on the LGs) so no new logs there. This is all that registers in the main log:

[2025-02-10 17:24:16.293 +00:00] [INF] [43] Jellyfin.Api.Helpers.MediaInfoHelper: User policy for "bbobek". EnablePlaybackRemuxing: True EnableVideoPlaybackTranscoding: True EnableAudioPlaybackTranscoding: True

[2025-02-10 17:24:19.157 +00:00] [INF] [59] Emby.Server.Implementations.Session.SessionManager: Playback stopped reported by app "Jellyfin Web" "10.10.5" playing "Django Unchained". Stopped at "0" ms

Everything was working great. I'm on 10.10.5 on a DS 218+. What happened? I changed nothing. Is this inconsistency typical?

Solve for one location: server connection. The issue was a security setting in Synology DSM. One of two (or both I suppose):

    1. Adaptive MFA enabled, and/or
    2. TLS/SSL Profile Level set to "Modern Compatibility"

Won't be able to test playback on other TV that did not have connection problems for a few days.

Definitely keep us posted. If you could do a write up afterwards what all you did, that would be great.

Could you also specify which model LG TVs these are? And what WebOS version they are running.
