I am writing to report an issue I have been experiencing since updating to Jellyfin 10.9.1. During playback, I am encountering frequent freezes. Sometimes the playback resumes after 30 seconds to 1 minute, but other times I am forced to restart Jellyfin. I am running Jellyfin on a Proxmox server with Windows 11 and GPU passthrough using a GTX 1080 graphics card.

    I hope this is helpful!

Does this happen with all clients or only the Android TV client? Also, I see some of your activity is live TV? Is this issue only happening with live TV or does it happen with local files too? Because if it is only happening with live TV, there are several known live TV related bugs and I recall one of the PRs to address these bugs was related to what I think I am seeing in your log.

    Hi TheDreadPirate,

    Thanks for your response!

I've been experiencing playback freezes in Jellyfin 10.9.1, primarily on iOS and Google TV clients. The issue persists even after removing all live TV content.

I noticed this error in my Jellyfin logs:

[2024-05-16 23:13:17.285 -04:00] [ERR] [439] Jellyfin.Api.Middleware.ExceptionMiddleware: Error processing request: "Unexpected end of request content". URL "POST" "/Sessions/Playing/Progress".

I'm wondering if these freezes could be related to the known live TV bugs in 10.9.1, or perhaps this error message points to a different issue? Any insights or workarounds would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for your help!

Are you running any VPNs on the server or clients? Weak signal? It looks like it just lost connection. But the error message is pretty generic.

When you are at home, does it freeze when you use access Jellyfin directly with the local IP?

Can you turn off Tailscale on the server and try again. I'm running out of ideas. But this sounds like a general networking issue.
