Hi,
It would be great to have an option to save extracted subtitles alongside media files, similar to the trickplay feature introduced in the last update.
Currently, subtitle extraction is essential for a smooth playback experience on Android TV, as it struggles to handle embedded subtitles properly. To address this, I initiated a background process to extract subtitles across my library. However, I had to stop it after realizing that it generated over 40 GB of subtitles in the Jellyfin data folder, and I was still only about 20% through the library. At this rate, it could end up consuming 200 GB or more, which severely impacts backup times.
While I could exclude subtitles from backups, losing them is not ideal since re-extraction takes a significant amount of time. A feature to save these subtitles directly next to the media files would not only save space in the Jellyfin data folder but also streamline the workflow and address these concerns.
Thanks for considering this!
