I'm trying to have custom thumbnail on a TV episode. It's named thumb.jpg in the same directory of the episode file. I had to manually do all of the metadata because the episodes are the Doctor Who 60th Anniversary Specials and they aren't in the TVDB or IMDB regular series by series episode list so they can't go in Series 14 with the new Christmas special and were being recognized as a random thing so now I have a directory just for the specials and they refuse to be scraped for so yeah I had to do it manually, and the thumbnail for The Star Beast is a random frame of a side character mid talking in their car so I wanted a custom thumbnail.

Our docs say "thumb.ext" for the filename?

    https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/server...ows/#thumb

Give that a try and report back. I've never done custom thumbnail images.

Ext, abbreviation for extension? My thumbnail picture is named "thumb.jpg". I've looked at what size other thumbnails are and they are 300x200. Resizing my thumbnail image down to 300x200 didn't work though.

    Have you tried {title}-thumb.{ext}?

But you should be able to do it by clicking the 3 dots on the show, select edit images and 'upload' your image. I'll use customs for some movies and place it as the 'poster'.

I ended up remembering that you can add images within the UI like that. The image goes away if you move the episode or anything but it's good enough for just a thumbnail.
