Hi, I noticed after 10.9.6.   that the volume on my LG TV needs to be cranked almost to Max to be loud.

If I watch regular tv level 20 is really loud.

I can't think of anything I have changed since to cause this, other than upgrading my Nvidia drivers.

Has anyone else experienced low volume playback on LG tvs?

I am wondering if I should just invest in a sound bar. But I do wonder what the underlying cause is, being that it is only happening in jellyfin

Was Jellyfin transcoding the audio before but isn't now? When Jellyfin transcodes audio it also applies a gain boost.

I am not 100% sure how to tell if video or audio are being transcoded or not? How would I tell?

I have a rtx 3070, with hardware acceleration on, but beyond that I am a bit of a noob.

All we really do at home is play content on our LG TV. But just notice we really do need to crank the volume these days on the tv.

In the Dashboard it will show you what clients are currently playing and the playback method.

That's a bug. You need to scroll the wheel up (center of LG Magic Remote) to increase the volume.

    Awesome, you saved the day.

It was really bugging me because I had 2 identical TVs, and one was louder than the other.

It was a wheel problem  Flushed-face
