I installed JF 10.9 on an M1 MBP. Finally I could stream content to my 2018 LG tv WebOS app without crashing! It worked even with the laptop sleeping! I was amazed of this little wonderful piece of software

I use my MBP with lid closed, connected to an external monitor through USB-C and always connected to power.

2 days ago I needed to take my laptop with me so I "undocked" it. When coming back I noticed frequent stops in streaming due to disconnecting from server. After some testing I figured out it is the laptop entering sleep mode that causes the server to disconnect. If I enable "Prevent automatic sleeping on power adapter when the display is off" option in the Power settings it remains connected and the stream doesn't stop. But I want to use it like before, what changed? How can I turn the option off and still get uninterrupted streaming?

(I also updated to 10.10 during testing)

It is just macOS doing sleep the correct way. Jellyfin cannot be used when the host OS is sleeping so your previous behavior is probably an actual macOS bug that does not put your computer into sleep when it should.

It can be. What I would like is to use something like Wake on Network to automatically wake up system when requested by a Jellyfin device on the network. I don't want to prevent macOS to go to sleep forever (I assume is not healthy for the hardware) or to switch manually. I think this is possible technically.

Update: for some reason that I don't get, macOS return to its initial behaviour. Now I can access the server regardless the system is sleeping or not. What I did was to reset the battery optimized charging setting, that now it functions as it should.
