    Hi all,

I’m having an issue where Jellyfin will find a new media file but will remove another in the process.

    To explain more in detail:
I have a movie library with only concerts, these were at first structured in a way where the first folder would have the artists name, then a folder with the concert name and then the mp4 or video_ts folder.

At first this seemed to work okay, until i found out that not all files are shown in JF.

I found that the jellyfin structure needed the second folder to have the artist name as well to be able to recognise folder within folder architecture.

However I’m still having issues with files dissapearing. Take for example my concerts of David Gilmour.

This afternoon it could find the concerts that were located under:

David Gilmour / Remember that night.mp4

    As well as the file:

David Gilmour / Live at Pompeii / Live at Pompeii.mkv

This evening i check again and the latter has dissapeared from my jellyfin library entirely.

I then put the mkv’s inside the David Gilmour folder instead of Live at Pompei.

It shows up again in JF. But Remember that night is absolutely nowhere to be found anymore.

    In the log it reads:

I’m absolutely beyond words on why this works so badly. Anyone knows why?

Can you share your full jellyfin log via pastebin?

Are there any other files in the directory? Looks like you have at least two other files in there. Can you list the full contents of the David Gilmour folder?

the full content of that folder are:

Live in Gdansk - DVD3 (Folder) (within that folder VIDEO_TS folder)
Live in Gdansk - DVD4 (Folder) (within that folder VIDEO_TS folder)
Live at Pompei (Folder) (within that folder 2x MKV file )
    Remember that night (mp4)

I quickly read somewhere that JF dislikes it if there are folders and mp4's together in the root folder. This could be the reason. By now I have already extracted the mkv contents of folder Live at Pompei to the root of David Gilmour and that seems to work better. Soon I will convert the VIDEO_TS vob files to mkv using mkvtoolnix
Still very strange why that would be such a hard thing for JF to organize

Besides the TS folder issue, you have multiple videos in the David Gilmour folder. This can cause Jellyfin to try to treat the videos as "versions" of a movie. And this may be something you want to consider.

    https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/server...of-a-movie

You would have one David Gilmour Live listing, and then there would be multiple "versions". One for each disc or location.

Another user with a similar situation ended up going this route.
