Occasionally the media libraries on my server will change their types from Music, Shows, Books etc to "Other" and stop displaying any content [despite still having the correct filepath listed under "Folders"]. To fix this, I have to delete each of the libraries and recreate them, which then requires doing a bunch of fixing the same metadata each time for the music and books libraries.

The log file for the day this most recently happened [the 22nd of Feb] can be found here. The folders and corresponding libraries that were hit this time were /home/g0m/Completed [tv shows], /home/g0m/completed-music, and /home/g0m/completed-comics. For some reason, completed-movies wasn't affected this time, while it has been in the past.

The Jellyfin server version is currently v10.10.5. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

You're going to have to share screenshots of what you're seeing because AFAIK this is not possible. Nothing in the log is out of the ordinary.

I have today's log too, just in case the issue was caused by the date rollover.

Near as I can tell I fixed everything back to how it was before this specific occurrence but I captured a few partial screencaps from a time when this happened before:

Note that despite it saying "0 folders" clicking in to "Manage Library" the folder is still listed under folders:

When clicking into the libraries from the home screen they'd appear completely empty, all "0-0 of 0". Removing and readding the file path to the folder would "work", but the library type being changed to "other" means it'd try and fetch movie [i think? might've been tv?] metadata, which isn't a huge help for my music library.

What distro are you using and how is Jellyfin installed? I noticed that the jellyfin cache directory is in your home directory?

In fact, it looks like the jellyfin data dir is also in your home directory.

Interesting, I had my music library disappear yesterday and restore from a backup a day earlier. Seems similar, next time it happens (hopefully never) I will check if this it also changed to type other... well it was also my movie library, so both libraries with the same name as the library type and last part of the path I used for them... which seems similar to your setup.

So you installed jellyfin via your package manager and then manually changed where Jellyfin writes all its directories?

Can you find and share the contents of system.xml?  In a default setup that would be in /etc/jellyfin.  But I have no idea where you relocated your files to.

It's right in /etc/jellyfin, no worries! system.xml is here

[Also I wasn't the one to do this installation myself - the information about the installation process is that which I've gathered secondhand]

The only thing I can suggest at this point is to remove the VGMDb plugin. It is the only "problem" I see in the original log. But I don't see how that could cause what you're seeing. The library type is tightly tied with a lot of other metadata and database entries. The library type spontaneously changing should cause a lot of error messages in the log.

Can you explain why all your jellyfin app data was moved to /home/g0m/jellyfin?

I believe that it's because multiple jellyfin servers are being hosted on the same server [i think just like one other] so this keeps the app data separate?
