    Hello,

I'm trying to solve a issue with my new installation when saving metadata to media folder.

My old jellyfin server used to create a folder called "metadata" and keep all the thumbnails for the show in it neat and tidy. But my new server dosen't create the folder and just places the thumbs next to the media making it cluttered. Any ideas on what could be causing this?? Any advice would be appreciated. Using the latest version. Thanks!

That's where Jellyfin 10.9 places images now. AFAIK, there is no way to change that in a config. I don't know why this was done.

I understand that it looks cluttered, but at the end of the day you are interacting with the Jellyfin UI and not the files once you've added them.

As far as I can tell, jellyfin will still look for images in a metadata folder so you can move them yourself. The change is dumb and it was explained to me it was a workaround for a bug that to me sounded like a pretty simple fix really. They also changed the naming convention for the images, adding "thumbnail" to the filename as well. I wrote a script that moves the images on new media to a meta folder.
