    Hi-

I'm new to Jellyfin and looking to figure out why my wife's Chromebook will randomly cut out when watching a movie. I know that none of the hardware here is at all ideal, but its what I had on hand when my wife asked me to find Swedish dubs of Disney movies for our daughter to get more bilingual reinforcement.

The server (aka Dad's mini pc he only really wanted to play DnD on)
    AMD Ryzen™ 7 3750H with Radeon™ Vega Mobile Gfx × 8
    32GB ram
    1tb nvme ssd
    Ubuntu 24.10
    Jellyfin 10.10.3 installed via flatpak

    The client (chromebook Asus CX3)
Intel® Core™ i5-1130G7 Processor 1.1 GHz (cpu monkey says it should be able to decode most anything)
Jellyfin client installed from play store

The Movie (no accounting for taste here)
    Video
    Title: GalaxyRG - Meg.2.The.Trench.2023.1080p.AMZN.WEBRip.1400MB.DD5.1.x264-GalaxyRG - H264 - SDR
    Codec: H264
    AVC: Yes
    Profile: High
    Level: 40
    Resolution: 1920x800
    Aspect ratio: 2.40:1
    Anamorphic: No
    Interlaced: No
    Framerate: 23.976025
    Bitrate: 1737 kbps
    Bit depth: 8 bit
    Video range: SDR
    Video range type: SDR
    Color space: bt709
    Color transfer: bt709
    Color primaries: bt709
    Pixel format: yuv420p
    Ref frames: 1
    NAL: 4

I dont think my pc should have to transcode anything, since her chipset should be able to handle that, but i would hear my fan kick up when she was watching a movie.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

IMO, you'd be better off just using a browser in ChromeOS vs using the Android client. Give that a try.
    Jellyfin 10.10.7 (Docker)
    Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS w/HWE
    Intel i3 12100
    Intel Arc A380
    OS drive - SK Hynix P41 1TB
    Storage
4x WD Red Pro 6TB CMR in RAIDZ1
