I've watched some YT videos that show a top bar with "Home" and "Favorites" at the top. But my 4k Firestick doesn't have it. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

The Jellyfin AndroidTV app does not use the Jellyfin WebUI, instead featuring its own custom interface.

I've often wondered why this is, is it a technical limitation of the android tv platform, or is it a specific decision made for other reasons?
    Specifics:
    Jellyfin 10.10.7 (docker) on Debian 12.6 // N100 16GB
    Storage: Synology DS220+ CIFS mounts
Clients: Jellyfin4Kodi (Addon Mode), Android, Android TV, Roku, Symfonium

The WebUI is sub-optimal for TV interfaces.  I personally prefer the native interface of the Android TV and Roku apps.

There is still a "home" and "favorites".  But only once you've entered a library.

This is not a limitation, just a design choice.

I'm new to jellyfin, so I just want to make sure I'm clear on this. Are you saying that the fire stick uses the Android TV app? If so, are you saying that the Android TV app does not show home and favorites at the top? If so, is this something that is in development?

Yes, the Firestick uses the Jellyfin for AndroidTV client, which has a custom layout distinct from what you'd see on apps that rely on the Jellyfin WebUI, such as a browser (Firefox, Chrome, etc.) or the Jellyfin Media Player desktop client. While it still features a home icon and favorites, the arrangement is different (Dread shared a picture of it).
