I've been using Jellyfin for music for a few months and decided to add our movies and TV collections this week. Because I previously tried to use Kodi's profiles, our media is broken up into "TV," "KidsTV," "Movies," and "KidsMovies" shares on the NAS. Since it seems Jellyfin users would work for us, I'd like to add our son as a user and grant him access to only KidsTV and KidsMovies. I would imagine the best way to do this is to add each of the four libraries separately and then give him access to two of them and the parents access to all four. If I go that route, will the parents see four separate libraries, or will the KidsTV and TV all be shown in the TV library and the two movie libraries under Movies? Also, since I initially set it up where the TV library contained both TV and KidsTV folders, is there a way to split that into two libraries, or do I need to delete one folder from the library and re-add it separately? This isn't critical, but it would be nice to have an idea of what others are doing. I've seen the built-in parental controls, but given the wide variation in rating standards we prefer to manually separate the media into "ok for him" and "not ok." I hope what I'm writing makes sense.
On a related positive note, we went from stuttering and sync issues on our Box R 4K Plus over a stable ethernet connection to (so far) 100% playback success. I think we might beditching Kodi after using it for more than 10 years. Thanks for the great software!
