I have a large collection of classic Disney & Warner Bros animated shorts on my server, and to my understanding creating custom libraries isn't possible due to limitations in the way the server itself is written. As it is, I use playlists to play various selections of cartoons in certain orders (be it chronological, by "star", or by certain thematic elements). While this sort of works, every individual short appears in my Movies library (which to my knowledge there's no way to "hide" a title from being displayed while still having it appear in playlists and collections) and makes it appear excessively bloated. I'd love to see the option of a whole separate library to hold these titles, that would be structured the same as the Movies library as far as organization and collecting metadata.

Why not put those videos in a different folder then create a library with that folder.

    Code:
    /animation
    /movies
    /tvshows

    Don't see what's the issue!

Because unless something has changed since this thread was posted: https://forum.jellyfin.org/t-custom-libraries  according to post #2 Jellyfin doesn't support the creation of custom libraries.

Edit: I did actually discover a workaround similar to what you described, so I'm going tot see if that'll get the outcome I'm looking for.
