Hey, just recently came over Jellyfin and loving it so far.

But ive recently learned that having a samsung tv is a curse and tizen is something everyone and their mothers hate, and getting it installed there was a nightmare,  but came over This github that made it alot easier.

But now the problems started, different themes on my jellyfin setup does not play well with my tv at all, and im starting to wonder.

Is the official release of jellyfin tizen better?  ( even tho it looks super complicated to get it installed )

And i guess i eventually have to buy a 3rd party unit to plug into my tv, what would you guys recomend getting?

Will Jellyfin run on apple tv?

Dashboard > Users > Select User and just change the name in the checkbox, save.

I can't speak for the official tizen client vs what you used. But I generally recommend using some external smart tv box over any TVs built in smart OS.

I like my Chromecast with Google TV 4K. A lot of people like their Rokus. I would get the Roku Ultra if I were to get one.

My library is mostly DVD to MKV rips. I use the LG smart app to access Jellyfin. It seems like the movies look better played from my 4k BlueRay player.

Would a 4k Roku "upscale" content to look better on the TV (then the TV smart app)? The prices are reasonable enough if there is a significant picture quality difference.

    Thanks.

The upscaling on my CCwGTV 4k is ok. I can't speak for the Roku Ultra, but I doubt it is much better.

Good bluray players almost certainly have much better upscalers.

Thanks. DVDs were around before big screens and I don't expect them to produce state of the art quality, but I want to squeeze out the best picture possible as I have a a lot ripped to Jellyfin now.

side note: Jellyfin is AWESOME! Not perfect, but it rivals any commercial streaming service and is better then some.
