Since updating to 10.9.1, after an episode is finished playing the player stays open and does not automatically close and return to the home screen.
It only happens for TV episodes launched from Next Up on the home screen though, for Movies and TV episodes started from their Season it still works like before and the player closes.
Happens with the Jellyfin Media Player (where it shows a black frame when the video has finished) as well as with using the web player in my browser (there it shows the TV show poster as a background)

Is there a Setting I am missing? Or is this behavior expected?

On every client I've used (Android TV, Android, web, JMP, Roku) starting an episode from "Next Up" queued the remainder of the season's episodes until I explicitly stopped playback. I believe that is the default behavior, but I also think it is configurable. I don't have access to my Jellyfin at the moment to help find that. But I do recall a setting whether or not to queue all subsequent episodes of a season.

I THINK it is a client setting, not a server setting.

You are talking about the "Play next episode automatically" Setting you can find under Playback? I have that turned off, because I don't want that.
That is not the issue I have. My Issue is that when the video I play from Next Up is done, the player stays open.
It used to automatically go back to the home screen. I have to click on the arrow to go back, which gets annoying pretty quick.
I expect the player to close when it reaches 00:00 remaining. Just like e.g. when you play a Movie it just closes without having to back out of it.
Attached a Screenshot of what I am talking about.

I have auto play next episode disabled, In the previous versions it would play the episode then go back to the previous page after it finished.

Now, in the media player it shows a black screen at the end and doesn't go back automatically.

This black screen prevents screen saver and screen sleep.

I can manually go back to previous page by clicking the back button, but this causes scrolling functionality to stop working. I can no longer scroll up or down on any page.

The issue is reported here but hasn't got much traction: https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-med...issues/634

The issue is also present on web, it just shows the series backdrop instead of a black screen at the end.
