I'm trying to play my music with Android Auto using Jellyfin. I can browse my library ok and can select songs to play. The appear to play (progress bar moves) but there's no audio. When I try the same thing using Plex instead, audio works perfectly. Any idea what I might be doing 'wrong'?

I haven't utilized Android Auto with Jellyfin, but I do have it all set up to do so. I prefer to use Symfonium as a playback client, as it is a FULL-FEATURED, customizable music playback client with advanced features like smart playlists.

I will see if I can get Jellyfin + Android Auto working and report back. Might be a few days, but I think I have time today to at least get the setup done and might be able to test if I need to run out for errands. I'll keep you posted unless I see somebody else jump in.

For starters, it would be good for you to reproduce the issue and locate the logs for when it happens, then share those here via pastebin or another similar site (please don't post your raw logs in a message, they're very hard to parse this way). If there is transcoding involved, make sure to grab the relevant ffmpeg log as well. You can find those either via Dashboard > Logs or in the log directory set up when you installed (see: https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/admini...-directory).

Thanks for the tip about Symfonium. That worked perfectly. Plexamp also worked well but that's for a different forum. If you haven't already tried Android Auto, no need. I'm happy enough with the other options. Thanks again!

For the record, Finamp (FOSS) is working on getting Android Auto working with their app. No ETA, last I heard.
