    Hello,

Apologies for MIA, has been a busy period. Hope you doing well. Your help is really appreciated.

I think I did, ran this last week:

"sudo docker run -d --name jellyfin2 --user 1000:1000 --net=host --volume jellyfin-configConfused-faceconfig --volume je
    llyfin-cacheConfused-facecache --mount type=bind,source=/jellyfin/,target=/media --restart=unless-stopped jellyfin/jellyfin"

    Still crashes.

I am thinking to upgrade to RPi5 hoping it will help the problem, but I have suspicion it is not the hardware.

    Many thanks.

IMO, spend the little bit extra and get an Intel N100 based mini PC. It will perform MUCH better and is better supported.

I'm not sure what the availability of this particular model is in the UK, but a lot of users have gotten this particular model, or something similar, and have been happy with the performance.

Thank you. I may will. When you say it is better supported, what do you mean as I think RPi has a strong community/support?

Strange thought, apparently people do run JF on RPI4, so I was fully expecting it to run fine ( I am not asking it to do any transcoding). May be the size of the library is a factor.

People do run Jellyfin on SBCs. And we strongly discourage that due to their lack of hardware acceleration capability. The exception being Rockchip based SBCs. If you have full fat PCs as your clients and simple media, running Jellyfin on a RPi is fine. But if you have streaming device type clients and complex media then there is a strong chance you will need video transcoding. Except for Rockchip based SBCs, RPis and other SBCs don't have the CPU power to reliably transcode video.

When I say the N100 has better support, I mean specifically for Jellyfin. We support hardware acceleration on it out of the box. In addition to it just being super capable for video transcoding relative to its power usage.

This is where I am puzzled. Transcoding is switched off and all files are MP4, and it is crashing when I am asking it to scan the whole library for missing metadata and images. It gets to 5x% and then crash.
