[*]After upgrading to 10.11.0 the "paths" are stuck on their loading animation in the server dashboard.  This is keeping me from being able to manage active connections.

Paths would display fine prior to update.  I have let it set on the loading animation for over 15 minutes.  I do not have any custom paths - using all installation defaults.

🧩 Issue Summary

After upgrading to Jellyfin 10.11.0, the Admin Dashboard → Paths page kept endlessly refreshing and became unusable.
Playback also failed for all videos.

⚙️ Root Cause

In Jellyfin 10.11.0, the server now uses marker files to identify internal directories:

.jellyfin-cache → marks the cache directory

.jellyfin-transcode → marks the transcoding temp directory

If both the cache path and transcode path point to the same folder, Jellyfin detects conflicting markers and the web UI (especially the Paths section) will continuously reload.
This also breaks transcoding and playback.

✅ Solution

Set the Transcoding Temporary Path back to the default in
Dashboard → Playback → Transcoding Temporary Path.
(Or point it to a separate dedicated folder, e.g.
D:\JellyfinTranscodeTemp.)

Restart the Jellyfin server.

(Optional) Delete any leftover marker files in your cache folder:

.jellyfin-cache
.jellyfin-transcode


Only one of them should exist per folder.

After doing this, the admin page stopped refreshing and playback returned to normal.

💡 Notes

This is not a CPU or browser issue — it’s caused by overlapping cache and transcode directories introduced in Jellyfin 10.11.0’s new folder verification logic.
Keeping those paths separate permanently fixes the problem.

Got the same issue on a LXC created within proxmox.
But opposite to the description from Loong im able to transcode / play all files correctly.
Only the infinite loading bar and the ? / ? (which should show the amount of files i guess) is pretty confusing.

Tried seperating the pathes like Loong descripted, but that didn't change anything:
/var/cache/jellyfin
/var/cache/jellyfin-transcode

I can't see any visible errors in the logs at all.

Set the Transcoding Temporary Path back to the default in
Dashboard → Playback → Transcoding Temporary Path.

Delete the path and keep it empty.
