    Hello,

Is it possible to get dlna on lg webos to play an mkv Dolby vision profile 5 file? I think I may need to add some lines to the XML profile to get the file to remux but I am not sure what to add.

Why not install our WebOS app?

I am having an issue with the webos app where the fireworks screen saver comes on while watching a video. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the web browser. DLNA works fine and the screen saver doesn't come on randomly, but it won't remux dobly vision files with the default profile.

When you say "web browser" are you watching with the integrate browser in WebOS? Or our actual app that you install from the LG app store? Our app should prevent the screensaver from coming on.

If you must use DLNA, you would have to construct a custom profile. But I'm not sure if DLNA can distinguish between SDR 10-bit HEVC and HDR 10-bit HEVC. I'm not even sure DLNA can distinguish 8-bit HEVC from 10-bit HEVC.

I have tried both the integrated web browser and the jellyfin webos app and both allowed the fireworks screen saver to come on during the video. I tried different media and noticed that this issue only occurs with WEB-DL sources. However, the same file plays back ok through dlna. If I playback a bluray remux file, then I am able to watch it without the fireworks interruption.

This issue only started to happen recently within the last few weeks or so

Can you disable the fireworks screensaver altogether?

No, unfortunately LG won't let you disable the fireworks screen saver. I also tried factory resetting the TV and that didn't help.

It looks like someone else posted a similar issue in the webos jellyfin app github a few weeks ago.
