    Hey all this is a new issue to me, I havent changed settings so i think it might be related to an update or something. Seems to be an issue with transcoding.

    JF 10.10.6
    Windows 10
    Intel 13900k/z790/64gb/7900xtx

    I have attached logs and my transcoding settings. It wouldnt let me upload my acutal log file so I did my best to fit in the character limit, let me know if you need more. 

    I noticed im getting an FFMPEG error but i couldnt find much info on the error code (40)

    You checked "allow encoding in AV1 format". Your CPU can only decode AV1, not encode. Having said that, even the transcoding attempts for encoding to HEVC failed with the same error message. I also recommend you check "Prefer OS native DXVA or VAAPI decoders".

    We'd need to see the ffmpeg log. Can you share that via privatebin.net?

    Hey, looks like that fixed it! Not sure which one as I checked them both at the same time. Thank you for the prompt response! I don't remember enabling AV1 encoding, but i was (trying) to use my gpu with AMF last summer - maybe i left it on from back then; which is the last time i messed with settings. I guess it's possible I havent tried HEVC from a non supported client in that amount of time..?

    Even stranger yet - it should have been encoding from HEVC to h264, as it was already in HEVC, and i was streaming from localhost to firefox (which doesnt support hevc). 

    Oh wait, maybe it was going from HEVC -> AV1 but my hardware cant encode AV1?

    Correct. You cannot encode to AV1. Only decode. Firefox does not support HEVC, but it does support AV1 and H264. In my experience, Jellyfin will prefer encoding to AV1 if you've enabled it. Which you did prior.
