Hi I have a problem adding a library to jellyfin under Debian. I have virtually tried everything. I have installed the version from the other AppStore snap. It is the same version of jellyfin. I think when I have installed it I have installed it under root or the user but not sure. There is no user called jellyfin on this version. How can I find what user it is installed under and how to add a library. I did it in windows and it took me seconds? Pls help thx 🙏

The snap version is unofficial, so if you want help you're going to need to use a supported method of installation. If you're dead set on using the snap regardless, you should open up an issue on the respective support site for the unofficial project (I'm guessing is this one?).

Uninstall the snap and install the package version.

Run this command and it will automatically install Jellyfin. Unless you are on Ubuntu Noble. You say Debian in the title, but snaps is an Ubuntu thing, right?

    Code:
    curl https://repo.jellyfin.org/install-debuntu.sh | sudo bash

If you are on Ubuntu Noble (24.04) this will fail and require manually installing Jellyfin. Though still run this script since it adds the Jellyfin repo to apt.

Then use the curl command I provided. Works with both Debian and Ubuntu. Or any derivative that uses deb packages.

I am using MX Linux which is based on Debian and I cannot add a library either. I've installed through Docker.

You can't keep making new threads and posting in other threads for the same problem. You're not answering the questions I asked you in your own thread.
