    Hello,

Playback freezes for a few seconds while I'm watching a video. Last night, I watched a movie from the WebOS viewer on my TV and playback froze for a few seconds about 4 times while I was watching the video.

    Here's my setup:
Jellyfin installed from Debian repository (Jellyfin.Server 10.8.13.0)
    CPU: Intel N100
    OS: Debian bookworm (Linux spuuli 6.1.0-20-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Debian 6.1.85-1 (2024-04-11) x86_64 GNU/Linux)

    Jellyfin log: https://pastebin.com/ZScBW2qf
    System logs: https://pastebin.com/AZ2Pj9dY

I've seen this problem a few times but the issue occurs intermittently, so it's difficult to pinpoint the cause...

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

It is direct playing so unlikely the server is the issue. What's the bitrate of that video? Is your WIFI weak where the TV is?

The bitrate of the video is 6389 kb/s.

The router is right below my tv... I've never had any issues withe WIFI before.

I suppose I'll check the server's network next time I run into the problem and see if that could be the cause.

    Thanks for checking!

I checked your system log and there wasn't any non-jellyfin related activity that could cause this. So it is either network or or some client side issue. Generally speaking, 4K 10-bit HEVC gets transcoded for "Anonymous Profile" clients. Perhaps that resolution and codec are too demanding for the TV? I'm assuming those are the actual video parameters based on the file name.

I switched from using the Jellyfin app on my LG TV to accessing Jellyfin through the web browser and I haven't experienced any freezes since. So, maybe there are some performance issues with the Jellyfin app 🤷‍♂️
