Hi there, I love Jellyfin, prefer it over Plex.
However, using external players for video and audio doesn't appear to satisfy.
Sometimes I get a blank screen on various movies.
Sometimes the audio doesn't come through as dolby 5.1 which kinda sux considering movies sound a hell of a lot better with this.

Is there any fix, or foreseeable plan to perhaps develop an internal player ? one that covers all things and just works.

    Cheers Smiling-face

You'll need to share some log files of this happening for us to dig in to what's happening. Likely unsupported codecs are causing issues or underpowered server hardware. Sharing your Jellyfin version, the version of the app you're running, your server hardware specs + OS + type of install, and mediainfo about a particular file that exhibits this behavior would all help!

Pretty sure its unsupported codecs as my NAS is quite fast with all latest hardware.

    So Server is:
    Server: jellyfin-ix-chart-7b87566fdd-tckgt
    Version: 10.8.10
    Operating System: Linux
    Architecture: X64

GPU I've assigned it to the container in TrueNAS
    Resource Reservation
    GPU Configuration
    GPU Resource (gpu.intel.com/i915)
    Allocate 1 gpu.intel.com/i915 GPU

Hardware acceleration is using Intel QuickSync.
Do you want any logs of the issue? Where can I find those?
The only issue I'm having is having to switch players in Android TV. The internal Jellyfin player provides 5.1 audio, but some movie files (encoded w/ something that it don't like) will be black screened (but can hear audio). So I have to switch to an external player to view them, it works, I can see and hear it then, but no 5.1 surround sound.

In Jellyfin dash board go to admin dashboard > logs, it sounds like something is srong with your transcoding settings
