    Hi everyone,
I'm running Jellyfin on a home media server and recently noticed playback issues when streaming larger video files, especially 4K content. The files buffer frequently or sometimes fail to play at all, even though smaller HD videos work fine.
The server is connected via Ethernet, and the client devices are using both wired and Wi-Fi connections. I've tried adjusting the transcoding settings, but the issue still persists with certain file types and resolutions.
Has anyone else experienced something similar? Could it be related to hardware limitations or specific codecs? Any help or tips would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

Can you provide your server specs please? Additionally, upload your logs -- both Jellyfin and ffmpeg -- to privatebin.net or another pastebin site.

To answer your question, yes. High-bitrate media causes all sorts of issues, particularly over WiFi. If the file needs to be transcoded to be compatible with your client (e.g., no 4K support, requires tonemapping, incompatible codec/s), your hardware is shouldering the burden so that could be a bottleneck as well. In some cases -- webOS for one -- weird idiosyncrasies cause issues. The latter is the only case I've seen so far and it's a really esoteric problem for webOS.
