I have set up Jellyfin on my Synology DS223j NAS running  DSM 7.2.2-72806 Update 2 and Jellyfin 10.10.3-20 from the SynoCommunity package. I have disabled hardware video transcoding as my NAS is not powerful enough to do that. So far there was no problem with that. I have my files as h.264 mp4s with aac audio tracks on my NAS wich should all be playable by my tv. https://www.lg.com/de/tvs-und-soundbars/...nano867na/ link to tv specs. Until now i could play all movies i tried even ones in 4k like the lord of the rings. However now when trying to play some movies notably ones ripped from bds my Jellyfin TV app tells me it cant play the media as my device doesn´t support it. Even LOTR wich worked previously does not work anymore on my Tv. When i check in the jellyfin desktop app under active devices it says the media is direct playing to my TV. It also shows my LG TV as two seperate dlients. One as the WebOS app and another as just a browser. I tried finding the problem in the logs but wasn´t able to figure out the issue. Interestingly it created 4 ffmpeg logs for me trying to play the movie once. The issue only exists on my TV as the desktop app has no problem playing the movies hich dont work on TV.

It is trying to transcode the audio, but appears to be struggling to do so. I noticed that the transcode extension is .mov instead of .ts, which usually means something is failing. Does Jellyfin have write permissions to "/volume1/@appdata/jellyfin/cache/transcodes/"?

It should have permission as in the past it was able to transcode audio when i watched on my pc. What i don´t understand is why it is trying to transcode in the first place. The audio format should be supported by my TV and soundbar. It also for some reason cancels the transcode in the ffmpeg logs by the external q command which I also don´t understand where that is coming from

Can you share screenshots of how Jellyfin is configured in the Synology UI?

Where do I find the configuration? In the Jellyfin app?

In the Synology UI. I don't have, nor have I ever used, an Synology NAS.

There is no Jellyfin config in the Synology UI everything is configured on the jellyfin app itself. I can screenshot the configuration as it is in the Jellyfin App https://imgur.com/a/ACNtlcS

Can you share the settings from the transcoding section of the dashboard?

You can find this at "Playback > Transcoding".

I looked up the specs on your NAS.
It doesn't appear to have an iGPU, so you need to make sure you have HWA disabled. As in, the CPU needs to handle everything (which you state you already configured, but I'm just trying to make sure).

Your issue is on an LG TV. Try going to its settings and disabling the "Prefer fMP4-HLS Media Container" option if that's enabled.
