    Playlist content deletion

Assumption: When metadata si updated and songs in a playlist acn not be found then the songs will be removed from the playlist. This happens also if the access to the songs (files) is temporarly broken.

    Hi all,

I made an upgrade to the latest version of Jellyfin (10.9.11 docker build) and unfortunately the bindings to my NAS were broken, so no songs had been available. After I solved the problem all my playlists are empty. I assume that Metadata update deleted the content of the playlists because the song files were not available at that time.

Is this a feature in Jellyfin, that not available songs will be vanished from a playlist? I am just asking, because I think that could be very tricky if there is some kind of network unavailability and you may loose all content of your playlists.

The only way to restore the playlist is atm a very annoying restore process: copying from backup each playlist, copying to the node, copying to the LXC and then copying into the docker container.

Is there a configurable or something esle where I can decide about the deletion behaviour if a song ist not found?

Feedback is also welcome how I could solve this problem or prevent it in the future.

BTW: Great product Jellyfin!!! I don't want to live without it anymore. Grinning-face

    Best Regards,

Dashboard -> Scheduled Tasks - Clean up collections and playlists.
Just delete the on application startup trigger. Then you can manually run it or set your own custom trigger.
