Problem with Collections and Movies with multiple versions

I'm now realizing that there might be an issue involving Movies with multiple versions and either Jellyfin's native collection mechanism or the TMDB box-set plugin. In my movie library settings I have enabled 'AUTOMATICALLY ADD TO COLLECTION' which I believe is a default setting, with the TMDB Box-set plugin installed and active and configured with defaults. The Movie library metadata providers enabled are themoviedb, thetvdb, omdb in that order.

Want to take a look at the jellyfin/config/data/collections/The Corporation Collection [boxset]/collection.xml file as an example of what I see as an obvious problem?

In case you couldn't tell by the small codeblock height, that is 425 lines long.

This problem is happening on every collection where the movie(s) have multiple versions. Inside the (bad) collection(s) it only contains the first/earliest movie in the collection. So, my Avatar collection doesn't include the Water one, and the Inside Out collection doesn't include Inside Out 2. Simply deleting the collection, and letting it rescan doesn't resolve the issue. The problem is not on TMDB's side.

The only way I was able to rectify the issue was by no longer using multiple versions of the movie(s), deleting the existing collection (which in turn deletes the .xml and collection item's basedir), and then going into TMDB Box-set plugin settings and clicking 'Scan All Libraries'.

*update* according to https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-plu...issues/104, the bug report creator says:

I solved this problem by manually editing the database.
In the TypedBaseItemstable, there was an error record with the type field is MediaBrowser.Controller.Entities.Video.
I just deleted it.

However I wouldn't feel comfortable editing library.db sqlite database manually, since this is used by multiple people and I know the sqlite backend is slowly being phased out and I probably wouldn't have the skillset to ad-hoc edit whatever backend is being planned.

Does adding multiple versions to an existing movie (which may or may not already be part of a collection/box-set) constitute the rename/remove operation you spoke about?
I don't believe I would have performed either a rename/remove in its strict meaning. The way media with multiple versions get to be that way in the first place in my installation is when media is already in existence but only with a sole media file. Then some time passes and I find a higher quality version and get the bright idea to "add" it to the existing media. You know what I just realized that I do indeed perform a rename operation (when I have to rename the first media file to be identical to the parent folder, and then the " - " separator followed by a unique name). Is that the rename you're talking about?
