    Hi,
i have installed on my Synology DS218+ Jellyfin 10.8.11. I have enabled with success transcoding with tone mapping and works like a charm. After update to new version 10.8.12, transcoding doesn't works. On system log i have this error:"  No VA display found for device /dev/dri/renderD128"

If i revert to "old" version 10.8.11 transcoding works without problems.

Support for Linux kernel 4.x was dropped in the newer Intel drivers included in the official jellyfin docker. 4.X is the current version of the Linux kernel Synology uses with their OS. To be clear, this is something Intel did.

Your options are to stay on the official 10.8.11 image or experiment with using unofficial images.

    https://docs.linuxserver.io/images/docker-jellyfin/
    https://github.com/linuxserver/docker-mo...encl-intel

Your current jellyfin database and configs should be used by most unofficial images without issue. But always backup your data before hand, just in case.

Whenever Synology updates the Linux kernel in DSM to 5.X or newer will the official Jellyfin image for .12 work.

For the Linuxserver.io image, you have to install the "OpenCL Mod" to get tone mapping to work with their image. Or did that not work either?

linuxserver/jellyfin works only with tone mapping if i select vaapi and vpp tone mapping. colors are bad and i not prefer this solution.

surely sinology will not update the kernel to version 5.x. bad news.

problably version 10.8.11 will be latest release for synology nas at this point

Only if Synology DSM supports GPU passthrough for VMs.
