I am new to Jellyfin and am about to restructure my movies on a 4TB drive to suit the recommended approach. I just wanted to check if I will run into issues.
Shows will be fine, but with movies I currently keep them in folders by genre on the drive and would rather continue to do so (I dont only use this on Jellyfin and need to keep a visual order rather than just have everything in one folder). Example of my folders are:
/foreign
/action
/crime
/comedy
Then below each of those I have the actual movies in their own folders renamed as "/Movie name (year)" following convention, and the movies themselves under those folders.
So, I believe I can do this by adding each of those folders (foreign, action, crime etc... ) to the Movie library in Jellyfin. Is this correct or have I misunderstood something?
Also - if it is correct - is there a limit to the number of folders we can add to a library, or does it impact anything by adding a lot of folders ?
(Note: they are all on the same 4TB external USB hard drive and not in seperate locations, and my OS is windows 10 x64)
