Recently made a Jellyfin server so that my family and myself can use it. Being that it’s just my family and I using it I wasn’t too pressed about “security” off the RIP so I just port forwarded 8096. Insecure I know but that’s a problem for another day.

Anyways I forwarded it last night and could access it just fine from my phones cellular data, and a family member across the states accessed it no problem. As per this morning it fails to load/access remotely.

Too note, the last of my default IP changed overnight(192.168.x.changed) it seems so I had to update it on my computer to log in locally. That’s fine however I logged in no issue. When I checked my computers IP it was the same as it was last night when it was working.

Am I missing something? I’ve tried restarting the server thinking maybe it was just bugged, but nothing.

    What’s been done.

    -Remote access is on
-port 8096 is allowed through firewall on inbound and outbound TCP & UDP
-Port is forwarded on TCP & UDP internal and external

I’m not good at networking, most I’ve ever done was host a Minecraft server years ago lmao. Hopefully someone can point out my stupidity here

    Thanks in advance

Nearly every ISP will provide *an* IP, but not a dedicated IP. That is, they use DHCP for dynamic assignment of IP addresses to your gateway (cable modem, fiber ONT, etc...). Have you checked your external IP to see if that changed?
